Thomas is a 9-year-old apprentice, who attends Cornerstone Christian Academy. His favorite class there is social studies, since he enjoys getting to learn about the people who shaped history, such as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr, and Franz Schubert. At home, he enjoys laser tag and helping his younger brother with his homework. He joined LPTM after finding forms to join in his school’s office. His favorite part of coming to LPTM is the art, and he says that he has learned a lot about geography and history with the help of the mentors. His favorite book is The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein. He aspires to me a mentor at LPTM to give back to the group, and in order to do this, he plans on staying out of trouble in school, maintaining his good grades, and staying active in LPTM. When asked what he enjoyed most about LPTM, Thomas said: “I can express my feelings with the drawings, and I can come here for help with my homework and to play sports.” Fun Fact: Thomas can name every member of the DC City Council, and did so in front of Chairman and Mayor Elect Vince Gray in a youth hearing last year!
