Part of the Life Pieces To Masterpieces’ Color Me Community™ Training Program,  Color Me Community Conversations are a series of community discussions designed to engage people from all walks of life in conversations to break down barriers of understanding among communities throughout the Washington, DC metro area. The Conversations began in the wake of the Travon Martin trial, when young men in our programs sought a constructive outlet to both process their emotions and share their experiences as black men with their broader community. These conversations have evolved into a powerful means of connecting the diverse voices and perspectives to be found throughout the District of Columbia while helping individuals connect both to their own sense of identity and to their communities.

Life Pieces To Masterpieces (LPTM) uses its proven effective 4-Part Human Development System and thought-provoking art works created by LPTM participants (Apprentices) to develop Color Me Community™ Conversations that:

  • Provide a safe environment for a diverse group of people to discuss challenges in their community
  • Encourage participants to broaden their perspectives on various issues
  • Empower participants to take immediate action by developing their #1stitch towards mending shared humanity

Join us for our current Color Me Community TM Conversations series on the implications of race, gender, cultural background, and other forms of identity on how we view the world and how the world views us.

Color Me Community: Using Personal Identity to Mend Shared Humanity
